Hiking – The abundant nature of the islands can best be explored by foot. With Morne Seychellois on our doorstep, guests have easy access to the main trails. We’ll pack a hiking hamper for you (extra charge) should you want so that you can spend a little time enjoying the spectacular views before making your descent.
Sun & Sea – One of the Seychelles’ most defining aspects is that the sea is omnipresent. Mahé boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with warm, clean and inviting waters. Being at the heart of the island, The Station is naturally an ideal place from which to explore the many beaches with the added advantage of being able to return ‘home’ to the cool mountain air at the end of the day.
Watersports – The Ephelia Resort at Port Launay and some of the beach resorts at the more touristic beaches like Beau Vallon offer various watersport facilities and activities. We can arrange scuba diving on your behalf, for all levels, with advance notice.
EXCURSIONS – Fishing – Hiring a fishing boat is possible with proper notice. We rely on a few dependable boat owners. Costs vary according to size and level of luxury.
Snorkelling – We can book snorkeling excursions in the Marine Park on your behalf either individually (with private owner) or as group excursion with one of the main tour operators. The jetty at the Marine Charter is 10 minutes from The Station, depending on traffic. Almost all beaches have good snorkeling so if you’re an enthusiast we recommend bringing your gear with you.
Island Hopping – The Station Seychelles is 20 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the ferry port. Many of our guests enjoy day excursions to Praslin and/or La Digue leaving on the early morning ferry and returning in time for dinner.
Sailing – Peter König, internationally renowned classic yacht specialist consultant, sold his company, Baum and König Hamburg and moved to Seychelles in 2011. Peter is willing to share his love of sailing and to show guests at The Station a very different view of our islands from the water. Nothing is quite as invigorating or de-stressing as a sail around the islands with Peter on his classic beauty, EVERGLOW (39′ Gustav Plym 1938) whether you are a novice or a serious-minded sailor looking for a real, traditional experience.
