Reef is located in the small unspoilt seaside hamlet of Wadduwa on the south west coast of Sri Lanka. There are a lot of boutique hotels in Sri Lanka but very few had direct access on the beach as we do!

Located just 40 minutes south of Colombo, on the south west coast of Sri Lanka, it cannot now be easier to be off the plane and on the beach in just over an hour enjoying your perfect tropical getaway at Reef Villa & Spa, Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is renowned for its unspoilt sandy beaches which fringe the island and Reef offers the benefit of having direct and level access from its tropical gardens to a gorgeous, unspoilt sandy beach where the sea is wonderful for swimming and the beach stretches majestically in either direction.

Although home to just seven sumptuous suites, this property boasts an abundance of space that’s rarely found in other hotels of this size beside the beach.

Heavy antique doorways lead to the house, revealing tranquil ponds which are crossed via stepping stones and a contemporary colonial interior filled with a collection of striking antiques and artefacts from Sri Lanka and around the world, including the Bharat hand-crafted floor tiles, ceiling-fixed punkah fans, Kerala tamarind-washed tiles that inlay the roof and the highly polished granite bathtubs which have all been imported from India.

The hotel has two kitchens that serve a generous menu of dishes, and you can dine wherever you choose. There is also a tennis court and a gorgeous spa.

Each of the elegant and expansive suites – offers plenty of privacy and comes with its own fully-furnished veranda or balcony that overlooks the lush garden, turquoise swimming pool or the deep blue sea.

All the suites have an individual design, are furnished with antique four-poster beds from Calcutta and are equipped with a range of modern facilities including a/c.

Ensuite bathrooms are fitted with exquisite free-standing, hand-carved granite bathtubs, twin granite washbasins and a rain shower with polished shower screen and an exquisite array of beauty products by Kama Ayurveda of India.

AYURVEDA SPA – offers a gentle introduction to Ayurveda and we offer luxury this in a luxurious setting where you will discover your very own oasis of enchanting tranquillity.

The bride and groom, if they are not Sri Lankan residents, do need to be resident in Sri Lanka for four working days (excluding any Sri Lankan Bank Holidays before the wedding) and they are then married on the fifth day. The bride and groom need to submit copies of their papers to Reef ahead of the wedding.
