Mnarani Beach Cottages is a small, intimate and reasonably priced lodge on the quieter flank of the Nungwi Peninsula on Zanzibar’s North Coast. The bungalows are nestled privately in a cove near the lighthouse on the tip of Nungwi.
A range of activities is available, from spectacular snorkeling, fishing and sailing to many interesting excursions all over Zanzibar. Divers will appreciate its proximity to the Mnemba Atoll, and for party-goers the lively bars and restaurants of Nungwi are just a 15 minute walk away.
Mnarani Beach Cottages has a total of 37 rooms, set in a beautiful garden right by the sea.
They’re all en-suite with a/c, fans, safe boxes and lovely spacious verandahs.
The Standard Cottages are small and cozy, equipped with all the essentials and quite a few extras.
The spacious Deluxe Rooms feature tastefully decorated interiors and large balconies where you can while away the time in your hammock looking out over the Indian Ocean.
Fisherman House is the perfect solution for families or groups of friends: Each room has its own private bathroom, and two or three of them share a lounge area with a kitchenette and a big verandah.
There are four Superior Rooms, each spread out over two storeys, with an open plan living area plus one or two beds downstairs, and a double bed upstairs – ideal for families with smaller kids.
And last, but not least, a romantic wooden honeymoon cottage called Mahaba is tucked away at the edge of the property amidst a tropical garden. Mahaba is an open plan, two-storey cottage with a kitchenette and sitting room on the ground floor, and a cozy sleeping area upstairs.
Mnarani Beach Cottages also has a fantastic restaurant where you can sample local cuisine. You’ll be offered lots of freshly caught seafood, literally bought straight from the fishermen as they return with their morning catch for preparation that evening.
