Guided Game Drives – Our ranger is also a full- time elephant monitor and he has great bush knowledge of all the animals – but an especially strong bond with the elephants at Royal Jozini.
Our Unimog seats 15. It is not quiet, but the animals seem to have become used to it! (This vehicle was an extra in the movie “Blood Diamond”.)
Self-Catering Accommodations:
Bushwillow Lodge – Sleeps up to 8 in 4 en suite bedrooms. The 4 twin bedrooms can be converted to become king-size beds if desired. The main lodge consists of an open plan living room and kitchen with covered patio/deck – with fans throughout. There is a deep pool just off the patio where you can sit on the ledge in the cool water, with a cold beer or a G&T!
There is also a boma area set under a flat top acacia tree where you can light a fire and braai. Power is by limited solar and battery back up for lights and fans, a generator for back up and gas for fridge, cooker and hot water. A housekeeper will come in daily to make beds, clean and wash up. Daily housekeeping service.
Kujabula Lodge – 5 bedrooms (3 double bedrooms and 2 family rooms) – which can be booked separately for couples, or as a whole for friends and family travelling together. It is right on the Lake Jozini shoreline and boasts a pool, deck, boma and braai. There is a lounge area, a dining area and a bar.
Each bedroom can be made as a twin or a king, has an en suite bathroom and its own balcony. This wood, stone and thatch lodge brings welcoming shade on a hot day, whilst having a warm and welcoming atmosphere on a cool winter’s evening. (Eswatini is never really cold – mild sunny days in a dry winter, with a nice evening chill that begs for a boma fire!)
Lisango Lezulu Lodge – Sleeps up to 8 in 4 en suite bedrooms. Lisango Lezulu self-catering bush home has balconies to shelter from the sunshine, whilst the main living area has a guest cloakroom, an open-plan kitchen with walk in pantry and separate scullery as well as a spacious dining area, lounge with DSTV and a covered patio.
There is a pool, a boma and two braais (one gas, one charcoal). Limited wifi for guests at this lodge. Lisango Lezulu’s dedicated housekeeping staff are there to assist you, make beds and wash up each day. We hope that you will have your breath taken away by the vistas from this lodge!
This charming and spacious thatched home is off grid and is powered by solar with batteries and generator back up. This lodge has a dedicated housekeeper who comes in daily to make beds, wash up and assist you. Exuding charm and with breath-taking vistas, enjoy the views, the birdsong, and the tranquillity. This is a lovely lodge for families to come together for a restorative break in the bush.
Inkwazi Lodge – three guest suites are private from each other and ideal for couples. Each has a spacious full bathroom (with a private, outdoor shower) and their own private decks.
Ndlovu Suite has a queen bed. This suite has a gas braai on the deck, a bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Please note that there is no access to the main lodge or pool.
Siqalo Lodge – Guests booking one or both of these bedroom suites will share the main lodge’s kitchen (for food preparation and cooking), the braai, patio, pool and boma areas. (Other areas in the main lodge are private.)
Hippo Cottage – Consisting of a queen bedroom, shower, toilet, hand-wash basin and kitchenette, it is tucked in a grove of Tambuti trees. The kitchenette has a gas ring for boiling water or frying bacon and eggs, as well as a bar fridge for keeping drinks cool. It sleeps 2.
Warthog Cottage – Is a family chalet that sleeps 4, and consists of a double bed and 2 singles in 1 bedroom. It has a shower and toilet with a hand-wash basin. The kitchenette has a gas ring for boiling water or frying up your bacon and eggs, as well as a bar fridge for keeping drinks cool.
Ekuthuleni Lodge – Sleeps up to 8 in 4 ensuite bedrooms.
Lodge is booked in entirety.
The heart of Ekuthuleni is its open-plan living area, featuring a fully-equipped kitchen, a welcoming dining space, and a cozy lounge that opens onto a covered patio. Here, a deep, cool pool awaits to refresh and invigorate, complemented by a guest toilet and shower for convenience.
BOAT BASED GAME VIEWING – Depending on the water, waves and wind conditions, taking a boat ride onto the lake can be a thrilling experience, to be able to see huge crocodiles basking on the banks, the hippos grunting to protect their territory, and perhaps even see elephants come to the water to drink, swim and play!
TIGER FISHING – This species is protected in Lake Jozini, so it is strictly catch and release. You can fish from the jetties or bring your own boat (there is an annual launch fee) or you can book one of our own enthusiasts to take you out for a few hours! The tiger fish is a silvery, striped fighting fish with sharp teeth! It can be caught on fly, rapala or with bait. Best fishing months are September to April.
Bird Watching – there are a vast number of bird species that can be seen from time to time, over 300 species have been spotted on the reserve.
