The Tamarind Tree Hotel & Restaurant is ideally located in the center of Dominica’s west coast on top of a 100-foot cliff, offering a beautiful view over the Caribbean Sea, the Bay of Salisbury and Morne Diablotin, the island’s tallest volcano.
Roseau, the capital, is 12 miles/20 km to the south; Portsmouth is 12 miles/20 km to the north, about a 30-minute drive each way.
To Canefield Airport, north of Roseau, it is a 20-minute drive, and to Melville Hall Airport in the northeast, it is a 1 hour and 15-minute drive. It takes 5 minutes to walk to Salisbury Beach and 15 minutes to walk to the village of Salisbury.
THE RESTAURANT IS AN OCTAGONAL BUILDING, OPEN ON SIX SIDES, ON THE CLIFF OVERLOOKING THE CARIBBEAN SEA. IT COMFORTABLY SEATS 30 PERSONS. THE KITCHEN OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF LOCAL CREOLE AS WELL AS INTERNATIONAL DISHES, APPETIZERS, SNACKS, SALADS AND DESSERTS PREPARED WITH FRESH LOCAL INGREDIENTS.
Rooms:
Six Standard Rooms are located on the first floor. They are equipped with either one extra-wide queen (64”/160cm wide) or two single (32”/80cm wide) beds. There is no A/C, but ceiling fan and natural ventilation.
The six superior rooms on the second floor are equipped with either one king or two twin beds and have A/C. All rooms offer the possibility to add a third bed for triple occupancy or a baby bed (two cribs are available).
