White Shark Guest House offers bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation 400 m from the harbour, in Van Dyks Bay, Gansbaai, featuring views of the Atlantic Ocean where shark cage diving and whale watching occur daily.

White Shark Guest House Partners with Marine Dynamics – offering exceptional marine experiences and the preservation of the marine environment, offering captivating shark cage diving experiences and marine big-5 tours.

Accommodation comprises individually decorated and comfortable guest rooms, including a self-catering Family Cottage. Each option features a private en-suite bathroom and contains heating, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a TV with streaming apps and DStv, and free Wi-Fi access; the Family Cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious lounge area, and a private garden courtyard with braai/BBQ facilities.

Each room at White Shark Guest House is decorated in a mix of rustic and contemporary, including exposed brick walls and modern furniture and some rooms have a private balcony.

Lounge – The décor of the top floor lounge, with large sofas and chairs, antique cupboards, warm carpets, and African masks, takes you back to Colonial times. Relax on the spacious lounge balcony with fantastic view over the ocean and surrounding area. Enjoy a glass of our local wine, while watching the sunset after your day full of adventures.

Breakfast –  Every  morning on the deck with an ocean view. Dining options are available upon request.

Balcony – first floor balcony soak up the African sun, pour a glass of our local wine or sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular sunset over the ocean.

Kitchen – fully equipped kitchen prepare your own lunch or dinner to enjoy in either the dining room or on the patio. Or have a Cape winter braai in the kitchen on the built-in braai. If that doesn’t appeal to you a lovely restaurant is just across the street.

FLAMINGO’S NEST –  Luxury King Room with sea view.
This room features a magnificent view over the ocean. Elegantly decorated and located on the top floor. It comes with a private balcony and seating area. The large en-suite bathroom comes with a double shower, bath and double basin.

GECKO –  Luxury Double or Twin room with sea view.
This light and airy room is located on the first floor. It offers a beautiful ocean view and comes with a private balcony. The large en-suite bathroom includes a bath, shower and handheld shower.

HIPPO HOLLOWS –  Luxury double or twin room.
This warmly decorated room is located on the first floor. The room has exposed brick walls and modern furniture. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower.

LIONS DEN – Large Twin or Double room with Mountain view.
This bright and spacious room with exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling is located on the top floor. The modern en-suite bathroom comes with a shower

LEOPARDS LAIR –  Comfort King room.
This comfort elegantly decorated room is located on the top floor. The very large en-suite bathroom includes a bath, shower and handheld shower.

FAMILY COTTAGE –  Luxury two bedroom cottage.
This family cottage with a beach house décor is on the ground floor. It comes with two luxury bedrooms and two large en-suite bathrooms both with bath and shower. It has an open plan lounge, fully equipped kitchen and a patio with BBQ facilities.

Activities to enjoy on our doorstep – Immerse yourself in the Dyer Island ecosystem and meet the Marine Big 5: whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, and the endangered African penguin. From January to May, you may encounter Humpback and Brydes whales, while from June to December, the majestic Southern Right Whales grace our waters. We are the only company in the industry where you can observe sharks from the boat year- round. A visit to Geyser Rock will show you thousands of Cape Fur seals and their neighbours, the endangered African penguins, along with various other seabirds breeding on Dyer Island. We also explore the bay to search for three species of playful dolphins.

Shark Cage Diving – Kleinbaai is the home to Great White Shark Cage Diving.

Shark Diving South Africa – Boats launch from Kleinbaai harbour daily and give visitors the opportunity to experience the Great White Shark up and personal. One needs no scuba experience. If going into the cage is too overwhelming for you, then you will be pleased to know that Great White Sharks may also be easily seen from the surface.

What the trip entails – You will receive a safety briefing and what to expect on your excursion. A short walk to the harbour where you will board the shake diving boat. Approximately 15 – 20 minute boat drive before dropping anchor. You are on anchor for about 2 – 3 hours. All diving equipment will be provided as well as towels. Snacks and refreshments will be served on board

What you need to bring – Warm jacket, sunscreen and cap. Use anti-seasick medication if you are prone to motion sickness
