Visit us if you’re yearning for space, peace and quiet…Bay View Lodge – is a superior self-catering lodge or all meals can be enjoyed in our famous restaurant – The Green Turtle.
All houses are built with face brick, are tiled throughout and with thatched roofs – all within 60m of the beach and with sea views. We are on the north-eastern tip of the beautiful Barra peninsula, with an estuary behind the lodge and a l-o-n-g sandy beach in front.
It is a place to leave your stress behind, explore the underwater wonderland on your doorstep and enjoy the night sky, far away from bright city lights.
ACCOMMODATION AND FEATURES
• All units are within 100m of the beach and most have at least a partial seaview.
• Bedrooms are airconditioned and each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom – except Group House – Shared bathrooms.
• All kitchens are fully equipped for selfcatering – gas stove and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.
• All floors are tiled.
• Linen and bath towels are provided and changed weekly.
• All beds have mosquito nets.
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Enjoy meals at the “Green Turtle” Restaurant.
• Outdoor shower – Enclosed.

DINING – Our well known and very popular restaurant, The Green Turtle is ON the beach and is run by French husband and wife team – Joelle and Francois. They’ve been in Mozambique for several years and have fused influences from Europe and Africa to create unique flavours and combinations.
DIVING – Scuba diving trips can be arranged when you’re at the lodge through the Dive Centre just next door. There are numerous reefs with possible sightings of whale sharks and manta rays! Equipment can be rented from the dive centre & Payment made at the time of diving.
We are approximately 485km north of Maputo, and 25km from Inhambane town, in Inhambane Province, Mozambique. All roads leading to the lodge are tarred, except for the last 3km, which is dirt road.
It has been hard packed with coral sand, making it easy to reach us with a normal passenger vehicle, without any difficulty. NO 4×4 is needed to get to us, but is good to have if you want to explore off the beaten track.
To get to us fast – there are daily return flights from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Inhambane via Maputo with LAM, the official Mozambican airline. Return airport transfers to and from the lodge are provided at a fee subject to prior arrangement.
