The property’s 3 luxury villas cater for a family or group of friends, a couple or individual traveller. We have one five bedroom and two one-bedroom villas which provide all the comfort you would expect from a stylish retreat in Zanzibar.
All villas’ are beachfront and come with own butler & chef (for the 5 bed villa), private pools, outside dining along with many lounge areas.
Rooms:
OUR ONE BEDROOM VILLAS WITH PRIVATE PLUNGE POOL PRIYA & KUSUM – Our private villas built for one or two. Luxuriously outfitted with large double beds, fine linens, private rooftop pool and terrace and personal impeccable service, these are the ultimate Zanzibari retreats.
Enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars, a massage in your poolside banda, or a peaceful afternoon drink on your private oceanfront deck. Each spacious (80m2) villa contains an airy double bedroom with AC, large sea view deck and bathroom with tub, indoor rain shower, double sink and open-air shower. Ideally suited for couples or solo traveller.
OUR FAMILY OR GROUP VILLA – SHIVA – suited for families or groups travelling together. All rooms are fitted with mosquito nets over the entire bed area with ceiling fans located above the beds to ensure the rooms stay beautifully cool throughout the day.
The villa is also available to book by the room off season or when there is availability – it works equally well sold by room or as a whole. When booked by room we do not take children under 4 years of age. This villa does not have AC.
SUITE ROOMS – These rooms are being sold within a large villa, with many areas to relax in privacy
Ishtaa & Raaga – Garden view rooms (ground floor) & Kaama and Justi – Sea View Rooms
BANDA ROOMS One bedroom Makuti bandas. Made from natural palm thatch these are rooms are perfect for guest that enjoy nature and simpler accommodation. Each has a small outside garden, small deck and partial sea views.
Sip & Eat – Food at Upendo is our passion… and the public restaurant and bar offers the best mix of both Zanzibar
and International cuisine. Food served all day until 9pm.
Conserve – 2017 saw us banish plastic on site and really begin to deepen our commitment to both sustainability and conservation through the eradication of plastic waste and recycling of products.
Spa & Retreat – We have a wonderful mobile spa therapist who’s has a lovely range of locally made essential oils & scrubs to
massage and treat our guests within the privacy of their own villa, deck or rooftop!
We have also partnered with a talented team of yoga instructors and retreat & detox specialists to run several our own retreats holidays at Upendo, or simply to allow our guests to have private yoga lessons whilst at Upendo. We have a yoga mat in each room to allow guests to practice privately as the wonderful sun or our famous moonrises over Upendo!
