A scenic 90 minute drive from Cape Town to this 440-ha farm in the Klein River valley, with sweeping mountain views from every vantage. ACCOMMODATION – Five cottages with kitchenettes, each unique in design and furnishing. Stables and Pincushion + Bluebell sleep four in two en-suite bedrooms whereas Milkwood and Protea each sleeps five; Erica is a one-bedroom cottage.
The ten en-suite rooms are located in two terraced blocks: Fynbos, overlooking the poplar forest and mountains, and Sagewood, overlooking the werf lawns.
DINING – Manor House offers a seasonal menu showcasing the best in contemporary country cooking. Presented with flair by chef Janine and supported by attentive waitstaff. Mid-century décor, proteas, art, books, wine … Crackling fires in winter; magnificent mountain views through large picture windows.
Manor House celebrates local produce, with a wine list that is similarly rooted in Overberg terroir. Regularly cited as one of the Cape’s top 10 country restaurants and – according to the 2021 Travellers’ Choice Awards – one of the top 10% or restaurants worldwide.
SPA – Housed in the historic milkshed, Poplar Country Spa is where Sarah Jengeta and her team offer a range of treatments to rejuvenate, relax, energise, destress and beautify.
Spa guests enjoy access to the wood-fired sauna, steam room and plunge pool, with soothing views across the poplar trees to the Akkedisberg mountains.
WORK – Gain insights and focus with a balanced work-play programme to incentivise and inspire your team in equal measure. Located a short stroll from the Manor House, our Conference Centre is able to host groups of up to 80 delegates

CYCLING – Stanford Valley offers one of the most scenic MTB circuits in the Western Cape, with a 16km to 30km thrilling network that includes singletrack builds through endemic fynbos.
Outside the annual ‘Stanford MTB Classic’, usually held in February. our MTB trails are exclusive to guests, making this one of the most uncrowded MTB circuits; a truly tranquil opportunity to commune with nature.
