Rustic Adroushan Cabin – Our Cabin is perfect for a family wanting a private home base for their stay. Our Adroushan Family Cabin has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a pullout sofa sleeper, living room and gas fireplace, desk and chairs, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Cabin is within walking distance of lodge, and meeting spaces.

Nature & Wildlife – Dao House is surrounded by pristine wilderness. Wildlife such as elk, deer, moose, bobcat, and bear regularly roam the property. For the safety of both guests and wildlife, pets and animals are not permitted.

One of the unique aspects of Dao House is that you do not need to leave the property to experience nature. Guests can hike, bike, meditate, or simply decompress directly on site.

A Place Where East Meets West – Originally established in 1948 as Aspen Lodge, a historic dude ranch, the property still features original barns, paddocks, and trails—preserving its authentic Western character.

Following the 2013 mudslide, the opportunity arose to thoughtfully re-envision the property as Dao House, an Asian-influenced wellness retreat center that honors both its Western roots and Eastern healing traditions.

Location & Amenities – Restaurants and shops are located 15–20 minutes away in Estes Park or Allenspark

• A small selection of necessities is available on site for guest convenience
• Hot tea is available 24 hours a day in the lobby
• Freshly brewed coffee is offered each morning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mountain Climate & Comfort – Mountain weather can shift quickly, with temperature swings of 20 degrees or more in a single day. Warm sunshine is common, while evenings remain cool and ideal for restful sleep.

Summer daytime temperatures typically remain below the mid-70s – No air conditioning is provided in rooms or cabins, Ceiling fans are in each lodge room, Additional fans and window assistance are available upon request & Extra blankets are provided in all accommodations. Radiant heat is used throughout the property. If additional warmth is needed, our staff is happy to assist.

Connectivity & Digital Detox – Due to our remote mountain location, cellular service is limited. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, though speeds may vary.

In support of a more intentional and restorative stay: No televisions are provided in guest rooms. Landline phones are available for guest use. Many guests appreciate this opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature

Parking & Property Access – Parking is free and unassigned. Driveways and pathways are gravel and dirt. During winter or inclement weather, AWD or 4WD is recommended

No motor vehicles are permitted on back-property trails, which are reserved for horses, hikers, bikers, skiers, snowshoers, and Dao House vehicles

Water & Wellness – Our taps provide pure mountain spring water, safe and refreshing to drink. Staying hydrated at elevation is essential—please feel free to refill your water bottles throughout your stay.
