Are you visiting the Addo Elephant National Park, or Schotia Safaris in the Eastern Cape, South Africa? Keith and Nondumiso welcome you to stay in our thatched cottages on our organic citrus farm, just 10 minutes from the Addo Elephant National Park, and 1 hr 15 minutes from the Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) airport. The Addo area is malaria free.

We welcome self-catering guests and have built a fully equipped guest kitchen for their use. Many of our bed and breakfast guests also use the kitchen to have a break from restaurant meals and enjoy a light supper that they prepare themselves. The kitchen is adjacent to a braai (barbecue) area, where guests can cook their own meal outside, and relax next to a roaring fire in the evening, listening to the sounds of the African night.

Our thatched cottages offer a comfortable place to rest after a hard days’ game viewing. Wake up to the sound of birds in the indigenous garden. We maximise use of renewable energy resources in the accommodation units.

Enjoy a refreshing dip in our natural swimming pool is a wonderful experience – the softest water you can imagine, immersed in a living ecosystem.

Our cottages are safely nestled in the garden, where many indigenous shrubs and trees have been planted. Mornings are filled with varied birdsongs from the more than 60 species that we have seen on the farm

The cottages are designed to have a low energy demand. The thatched roofs are a delight to sleep under. They retain heat in winter and stay cool in summer. The solar water heaters make use of the hot African sun, and provide you with a shower.

We provide guests with soaps and shampoos that are mild on the body and free of harmful chemicals. Our linen is all washed in these green products, which are effective cleaners but rapidly and safely biodegrade

Rooms Layout:

• All rooms are non smoking, and have an ensuite shower/toilet.
  All rooms have coffee/tea making facilities.
  There are 2 family rooms, each with a double bed and 2 single beds. Cots are available for infants.
  There are 3 double rooms, each has a double bed.
  There are 2 twin rooms, each has 2 ¾ beds.
  There is 1 triple room, with 3 ¾ beds.
