Canopus Retreat is located on the beachfront of Thulusdhoo island, home of the most consistent surf breaks in Maldives, known as Cokes and Chickens.
Just a 30 minute speedboat ride away from Male’ International Airport, it is the perfect destination for experiencing local island life, catching some waves or relaxing amongst the turquoise waters of the Maldives.
Canopus Retreat boasts 12 rooms that include all of the essentials for guests to have a comfortable stay, including WiFi, AC, flat screen TV, minibar, personal safe and tea/coffee facilities.
Guests can take advantage of our beachfront location whilst enjoying a range of watersports and excursions, including snorkelling, diving, fishing, sandbank picnics and, of course, surfing.
The guesthouse also features a spa, where you can get a massage to relax after a long day in the sun and sea, and a restaurant where you can refuel yourself.

A little bit about the island of Thulusdhoo – Thulusdhoo is best known as the home of two of the world’s most famous surf points “Cokes” and “Chickens”, attracting surfers of all levels from around the world. It is also blessed with an excellent house reef and is proximate to an abundance of dive sites, allowing guests to experience the natural underwater beauty of the Maldives.
Thulusdhoo is easily accessible via a 30-minute speedboat from Male’ International Airport (costing $30 per person, per way and operating several times a day). Alternatively, guests can take a 90-minute public ferry to access the island (costing $2 per person, per way and leaving once daily except Fridays).
The island has the following resources that are available to all visitors:

While our guesthouse accepts credit cards, we recommend that guests bring mostly USD and some Maldivian Rufiyaa with them, as most other places on the island only accept cash. Please keep in mind that withdrawing cash on the island is difficult and not always possible!
